数多くのイベントがひしめき合うここ東京、その渦の中でWE HERE NOW は２０１２年１月２６日、Seco bar からスタートする。本当の意味で個々を主張できる新たな東京の音楽シーンを求めて。

シカゴハウスならぬ、東京ならではの音楽性ーー
アーティストらが世代を超えて、エレクトロニック・ミュージックのクリエイティビティやアイディアを共有し、一つの東京発のジャンルの方向性を築いて行きたい、という熱い想いがある。そのために、ゲストは国内外のレーベルで活躍するトラックメーカーのLive Actを中心に常時セレクトしていく。

初開催となる今回は、幼少を日本で過ごしたベルリン/ロンドン在住のアーティスト、Alex Kassian aka Bearight が日本での Live デビューを果たす。Holic主宰のTomoki Tamuraにその才能を見いだされ、Holic のレジデントDJを現在でもつとめる傍ら、昨年は数々のヨーロッパのレーベルからリリースを重ねる。最近では年末にSound Museum Visionでプレイしたことでも記憶に新しいCatz n Dogzのレーベル、Pets Recordings初のコンピレーションCDに楽曲”MISS YOU”を盟友のLookleftと共に提供したことでも話題を集めている。キーボードから放たれる鮮烈なメロディーに誰もが踊らずにはいられなくなるはずだ。

レジデントにはイベントのオーガナイザーでもあり、オランダ・ロッテルダムで留学の傍ら数多くのオープンエアーパーティーやクラブイベントを手がけてきたChris Akira 。そしてもう一人は、１６歳でアンダーグラウンドの世界に目覚めDJを開始、週末はレコード収集に明け暮れる生活を送ってきた、DJ Tomo。この二人の若きアーティストを中心に、ロンドンのFreerangeレーベルナイトを含めRed Box、OM:TOKYOと数多くのイベントでレジデント兼主催者としても活動しているDJ Aosawaもゲスト参戦。

１時間のセットでオリジナルのプロダクションを披露するDJとはまた違ったLiveの緊張感を、そして、厳選された音楽を想いを込めてプレイするアーティスト達の音を聞いて、”WE HERE NOW”が考える東京の”今”を感じてほしい。



As dozens of underground events lined up in Tokyo's nightlife with big names from all over the world, WE HERE NOW seeks to set itself apart to create a place to assert individuality in a true sense.
WE HERE NOW kicks off on the 26th of January at SECO bar.

Truly Tokyo sound--
By combining the ideas, creativity or vision of the artists beyond generation, we want to dig for a "genre" from Tokyo, this leads us to mainly focus on live performances and sound creators as our line up.

For the first night, we have Bearight, making his Live Japan Debut. He spent his childhood in Japan and currently based in Berlin, made a come back to Japan for our curtain raiser. Last year, he has released tracks from labels such as Pets Recordings, Release Sustain and Boe Recordings and plays all over Europe - presenting a bright future to the young generation. From Tokyo, we have invited AOSAWA who has been the resident for London's label Freerange's Tokyo events and has regularly played in major clubs in Tokyo with names like Red Box and OM:Tokyo.

One of the event organizers and residents of WE HERE NOW is Chris Akira. He grew up in Tokyo and entered the electronic music world at the age of 16 in France, after few years he started hosting underground club events and open airs in Rotterdam/NL and Paris/FR. DJ Tomo is also the organizer and resident for the event, who has been spending all his weekend digging music in record shops since age of 16.
