今回の13complexは、オーストラリアから、インディダンス〜レトロディスコ〜90年代ハウスの雰囲気満載の《Not Not Fan》の姉妹レーベル《100% Silk》よりリリースが決まったRoland Tingsを迎えます。
彼の生み出すダンスミュージックは、少しダークなのにレトロでひとなつっこい、デザイナーでもある彼の唯一無二のセンスの素晴らしさが光ります。

また、DJ陣には各方面より日本のインディミュージックを支える顔ぶれが集結！
日本の《100% Silk》と言っても過言ではない《Cuz Me Pain》レーベルの主催でもあり、瀧見憲司のレーベル《Crue-L Records》からシングルをリリースした、ロマンティック・バレアリック・チルウェイブで聴き手をうっとりさせるThe BeautyのODAがDJで参加。

■ Roland Tings(from Australia)（100% Silk）［LIVE］
オーストラリアのRohan Newman (ロハン・ニューマン) によるソロ・プロジェクトRoland Tings (ローランド・ティングス)。
昼はメルボルンを拠点とするデザイナー、夜な夜なシンセの実験に勤しむ。
Manuel Gottsching、Casco、Haruomi Hosonoなどの初期エレクトロニック・ミュージックの革新者達の衝動を実験しながらアナログ・シンセサイザーやクラシックなドラム・マシーンに落とし込み、シカゴ・ハウス初期のダークサイドと70年代にヨーロッパで生まれたプロト・テクノとの結合を探求し、創り上げる。
6月に4曲入りの12インチ「The Milky Way」が《100% Silk》よりリリース予定。Roland 707のジャッキンなマシーン・サウンドとアシッド・ベースに美麗シンセが揺らめく、1987年のウェアハウス・レイヴの過ぎ去りし時代の甘さと熱気という根源を2012年ならではの輝きと共に再現。ダンスフロアでも完璧に機能し、ライブ・セットにもしっかりと組み込める、Roland Tingの世界観を通じてより広がりのあるエピックな旅をオーディエンスに期待させる一枚。

Roland Tings is the pseudonym adopted by Rohan Newman, a Melbourne based
graphic designer by day and synth-tinkerer by night. An appetite for the
music of early electronic innovators like Haruomi Hosono, Casco and Manuel
Gottsching soon manifested itself in late-night experiments with analogue
synthesizers and classic drum machines. Seeking to forge a connection
between the European proto-techno of the 70’s with the muscle and murk of
early Chicago house, Newman soon arrived at his own twisted and very
danceable take on the sound of underground electronic music.

That final product is The Milky Way 12”, soon to be released on 100% Silk. A
four track journey that takes in shimmering, celestial keys, warped, acidic
basslines, and plenty of jacking 707 sequences, it captures the primal punch
of a bygone era, the sweat and grind of a warehouse rave in 1987,
re-imagined with the sheen that only 2012 can provide. It’s a record that
translates perfectly to dancefloors, and with a live show setup now fully
operational, audiences can look forward to an expanded, epic trip through
the universe of Roland Tings.

主宰の一人でもあるThe Beauty。日本を代表するインディ・レーベルから2011年秋にLuger E-Go Remixを含む12インチ・シングル「Tribute To The Horror」でデビュー。5月25日にデビュー・アルバム『Love In The Heart of The World Shout』をリリースが決定。清冽でクリーンなイメージと80年代の直系のゴシック・フィーリングの並列が極めて自然に行われた、エスケイプ感覚と現実受容のバランスのポジショニングとスケール感が秀逸。
