■MARCUS NASTY
♞ Marcus Nasty is a legend of UK bass. One of the core members of the Rinse FM family, and a DJ who anyone from any scene knows and respects. He’s played at most of the UK’s major clubs and nearly all of it’s major cities, as well as all over Europe. He’s founded scenes, run parties, started labels, hosted and MCed, and he’s absolutely wicked DJ to boost.

Nasty is probably best known as the godfather of UK funky, forging the sound on Dejavu FM in the mid 00s by mixing together the best of American and Euro funky house and grimey UK bits like Apple’s Mr Bean with his high energy, grime style mixing. So seminal were these sets that it’s fair to say without Marcus Nasty, there’d be no UK funky.

However, since starting out DJing garage in 1999, there’s hardly been a single UK scene in which Nasty hasn’t left his mark. From leading the original Grime crew N.A.S.T.Y., to pushing the Bassline sound when no one else in the South was listening, and spearheading Jackin on his weekly Rinse FM show (helping to launch the careers of mega DJs like Hannah Wants, Chris Lorenzo and Tom Shorterz in the process), Nasty’s has always stayed 2-steps ahead of the competition and led the UK underground from the front.

Today Nasty pushes heavy Bass house music with his 3000 Bass label, a rave-ready mashup of the best bits of UKG, bassline, grime and funky over a snappy jackin beat. We know it’s gonna go OFF! ♞

Marcus NastyはRinse FMのレギュラーやトップDJとして世界中に名を広める。尊敬されるUK Bassレジェンド。イギリスのメジャーなクラブだけでなく、イギリス全国のメジャー都市や海外でも常に人気を保つアーティスト。
MCや複数のレーベルの創設者としても活躍し続けている、単なるDJを超えた存在である。もちろんDJとしてのプレイも世界中で評判されている。

最もすばらしい実績として、Déjà vu FMのラジオでアメリカとヨーロッパのファンキーハウスと、Appleなどのイギリス国産UK Funkyを、グライムDJらしくクイックにミックスしてUk Funkyシーンの人気上昇に大きく貢献した。Marcus Nasty無くしてはUK Funkyは無かった、といっても過言ではない。

1999年から、ガレッジのDJとしてDJの道を歩みはじめて以来、あらゆるUKシーンに彼が居た。N.A.S.T.Y.というグライムクルーのボスを勤めたほか、ロンドンではまったく流行っていなかった、ベースラインやジャッキンなど、北イギリスの音楽もRinse FMでプッシュし流行らせた。その流れで、現在イギリスのトップDJ、Tom ShorterzやChris Lorenzoのキャリアも急上昇した。すべての動き、流れにおいて彼はいつも一歩先に居る。

現在Nastyは3000というレーベルを通し、ダンスフロアを狂わせるヘビーベースハウスをサポート。この音は、UKG、ベースライン、グライム、ファンキーなどを混ぜ合わせ、なによりもレイブィーな音なので当夜は盛り上がるに違いない。♘
